Finding inspiration and ideas for ad images is not always easy, and it’s all the more difficult if you don’t know how to use Photoshop or another similar design tool. Even if you do, it can still take time to come up with a great looking image.
Often you will find that a natural photograph (one that doesn’t look too much like a stock image or photoshoot) will work best. And even better if you can include people using your product.
However, if you need something different, then I recommend you try out Stencil (getstencil.com) which is a tool I have used for years to create social media images and in particular, images for ads.
One of the best things about Stencil is that it has all the image sizes pre-saved, so you never need to check what the correct size is for each platform and placement.
Story images, link images, square images, they’re all there, and it’s easy to switch between them if you want to create the same ad in multiple sizes.
There is a fantastic choice of templates too, and it’s simple to add your own images and modify or add text and choose from the large selection of fonts.
Using their Chrome extension makes selecting images and editing even easier.
Give it a go and let me know what you think.
Hey there! This week I want to talk about creating images for your ads. Now in general, I recommend that you use images that are very natural and fit in well on Instagram and Facebook. So like photographs of yourself or somebody else in your business or just other photographs that you’ve taken.
But of course there are times when you want to do something different and, for example, you’ll would want to put some text on your images to highlight something in particular. And I’m sure you’ve seen lots of very nicely designed ads on Facebook and Instagram, and you’re wondering how can you do that yourself, especially if you don’t have the skills and the knowledge of using something like Photoshop.
So I want to tell you about one tool that I’ve been using for years and I find very, very useful. It’s called Stencil. If you go to get getstencil.com, you can check it out. There are lots of templates and it’s just so easy to use and to edit ads and get them the right size.
So that’s my tip for this week. All the best and see you again next week!
